WEL is committed to dismantling barriers and restoring hope by empowering girls and women through transformative education and leadership development. WEL works across disciplines – from Health and Humanities to STEM and vocational fields – and promotes both formal and non-formal education pathways to create inclusive, purpose-driven, and courageous leaders who thrive and lead change in their families and communities.
WEL is building a global movement that:
-
Prevents education disruption and increases retention of girls and women.
-
Strengthens family stability, wellbeing, and gender partnerships.
-
Builds an ecosystem of courageous women leaders ready to influence policy, institutions, and public discourse.
-
Elevates the legitimacy and visibility of non-formal education as an essential component of gender justice and social transformation.
A world where girls’ and women’s education is free from systemic obstacles, and where access to abundant, diverse learning pathways enables them to lead with dignity and impact across all sectors.
OUR VISION
To make strategic investments that strengthen the complementary role of formal and non-formal education in empowering girls and women to lead dignified, productive lives that transform families and society.
